TIE-aligned Advanced Level scheme, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form Five Economics scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the Advanced Level curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Economics is planned at approximately 5–10 periods per major topic block depending on the school timetable.
Methods include role play, jigsaw, project, discussion and field trip. Resources include Bank of Tanzania (BOT) publications and reports, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reports, Tanzania Development Vision 2025 and Five-Year Development Plans. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, questions and answers, project work and group discussions.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, based on the official 2026/2027 Economics Form Five scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
