Old syllabus scheme for CSEE preparation, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form Four Civics scheme of work follows the old syllabus format used for the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE). It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
The Form Four (old syllabus) scheme typically carries columns such as Competence, Specific Objectives, Main Topic, Sub-topic, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching Activities, Learning Activities, Learning Aids and Assessment Tools. The Remarks column (where present) is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Civics is planned at approximately 4–6 periods per major topic block depending on the school timetable.
Methods include discussion, debate, case studies and project work. Resources include textbooks, constitutions extracts, charts and audiovisual materials. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, essay work, project work and class presentation.
