TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form One Life Skills scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the new curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Life Skills is planned at 2 periods per week throughout the year.
Methods include Think-Ink-Pair-Share, brainstorming, group discussions, role play, questions and answers, simulations, interactive lectures and guest speakers. Resources include flipcharts, marker pens, handouts, the textbook, journal articles, posters and charts, and problem-solving/role-play scenarios. Assessment combines quizzes, assignments, class tests, homework, group discussion, flash cards and portfolio work.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, taken directly from the official 2026 Life Skills Form One scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
