TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form One Sports Studies scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the new curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Sports Studies is planned at 4 periods per week throughout the year.
Methods include small-sided games, jigsaw, gallery walk, brainstorming, demonstration, guided practice and snowballing. Resources include sport documentary videos, safety-content video clips, hurdles, cones, agility sticks, disc markers and starting blocks. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, questions and answers, project work, guided practice and group discussions.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, taken directly from the official 2026 Sports Studies Form One scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
