TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form One Theatre Art scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the new curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Theatre Arts is planned at 2 periods per week throughout the year, following an orientation course running from mid-January to late February.
Methods include brainstorming, resource persons, problem solving, Think-Ink-Pair-Share, scenario-based learning, jigsaw puzzle and ICT-based learning. Resources include videos of student drama performances, props, costumes, traditional costumes and makeup, storytelling audio, and drums. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, assessment questions, portfolio, flashcards, project work, guest speaker input and field activities.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, taken directly from the official 2026 Theatre Arts Form One scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
