TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form Three Physics scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the new curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Physics is planned mostly at 4 periods per week for major units across the academic year.
Methods include digital interactive simulations, practical work, brainstorming, group discussion, Think-Ink-Pair-Share, cooperative learning and ICT-based approaches. Resources include textbooks, inclined plane and roller, strings, ripple tank, ICT facilities, stroboscope, tuning forks, pipes, sonometer and resonance tube. Assessment combines quizzes, questions and answers, project work, class presentation, tests, guest speaker and portfolio.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, based on the official 2026/2027 Physics Form Three scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
