TIE-aligned Advanced Level scheme, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Form Five Computer Science scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) for the Advanced Level curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme carries the same column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Computer Science is planned at approximately 5–10 periods per major topic block depending on the school timetable, with practical programming integrated.
Methods include demonstration, hands-on coding, pair programming, project work and problem-solving. Resources include computers, programming environments, textbooks and online coding platforms. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, questions and answers, project work and group discussions.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, based on the official 2026/2027 Computer Science Form Five scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
