About this scheme

This Form Six Computer Science scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) / Prime Minister’s Office – RALG for the new Advanced Level curriculum (2026/2027). It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department or academic office.

What the scheme contains

Every row of the scheme carries the same official column set: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates, revision periods and school breaks.

Competences covered

Further units continue across the academic year covering additional Advanced Level Computer Science topics as prescribed in the TIE Form Six Student’s Book.

Period allocation

Computer Science is planned at 10 periods per week for most competence blocks. This allocation supports the depth of practical work, discussion, projects and assessment required at Advanced Level.

Teaching methods, resources and assessment

Methods include practical coding, project work, group discussion, demonstration and problem solving. Resources include computers, IDEs, network equipment, databases and online platforms. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, questions and answers, project work, group discussions and class presentations.
