TIE / PMO-RALG aligned primary scheme, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Class Three (Standard 3 / Darasa la Tatu) Sports, Culture and Arts scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) for the 2026 primary curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head teacher or academic office.
Every row of the scheme carries the official column set used in the primary schemes: Main Competence (Umahiri mkuu), Specific Competence (Umahiri mahususi), Learning Activities (Shughuli za ujifunzaji), Specific Activities (Shughuli ndogondogo), Month (Mwezi), Week (Wiki), Periods (Vipindi), Reference (Rejea), Teaching and Learning Methods (Mbinu za ufundishaji), Teaching and Learning Resources (Zana za ufundishaji), Assessment Tools (Zana za upimaji) and Remarks (Maoni). The Remarks column records examination dates and short holiday breaks.
Further units continue across the academic year as prescribed in the TIE Standard Three Pupil’s Book.
Sports, Culture and Arts is planned at 5 periods per week for most competence blocks. This supports the practical, play-based and activity-oriented approach expected at primary level.
Methods include demonstration, practice, games, songs, drawing and performance. Resources include balls, ropes, simple sports equipment, musical instruments, art materials, pictures of cultural activities. Assessment combines quizzes, tests, questions and answers, project work, group discussions, exercises and practical tasks.
Below is a short extract in the official column format, taken from the official 2026 Sports, Culture and Arts Standard 3 scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term examinations and short holiday breaks.
