About Form Five (Advanced Level)

Form Five is the first year of Advanced Level secondary education in Tanzania. It builds on the ordinary-level foundation and prepares learners for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) at the end of Form Six. Teaching follows a competency-based curriculum prepared by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE): learners are expected to demonstrate deep conceptual understanding, analytical skills, practical competence and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world and examination contexts.

Subjects are organised into combinations (e.g. PCM, PCB, HGL, EGM, CBG). Each subject is structured around main competences, specific competences and learning activities. Lessons run across the academic year with continuous assessment, mid-term and terminal examinations, and intensive preparation for ACSEE. Steady revision, practical work and past-paper practice are essential for success.

Note: Form Five content is drawn from the official schemes of work issued by the Office of the Prime Minister (RALG) and TIE for Advanced Level. Schemes of work for all subjects are available at https://www.clickonlineacademy.com/scheme-of-work.html.
