TIE / PMO-RALG aligned primary scheme, ready to download and personalise for your school term.
This Class Six (Standard 6 / Darasa la Sita) Mathematics scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) for the 2026/2027 primary curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head teacher or academic office.
Every row of the scheme carries the official column set: Main Competence (Umahiri mkuu), Specific Competence (Umahiri mahususi), Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods (Vipindi), Reference (Rejea), Teaching and Learning Methods, Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks (Maoni). The Remarks column records examination dates and short holiday breaks.
Further units continue across the academic year as prescribed in the TIE Standard Six Pupil’s Book.
Mathematics is planned at 6 periods per week for most competence blocks.
Methods include drawn examples from real objects, group discussion, games and learning activities, practical exercises, online programmes, projects. Resources include clock, simple maps, tape measure; real objects, photos, drawings on manila cards, box; protractors; online programmes related to distance-time, area/volume and angles. Assessment combines exercises, project work, questions and answers, debate, group work and home assignment.
Below is a short extract in the official column format from the 2026/2027 Mathematics Standard 6 scheme. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year.
