This Class Six (Standard 6 / Darasa la Sita) Sayansi na Teknolojia scheme of work follows the competence-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) for the 2026/2027 primary curriculum. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head teacher or academic office.
Every row of the scheme carries the official column set: Main Competence (Umahiri mkuu), Specific Competence (Umahiri mahususi), Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods (Vipindi), Reference (Rejea), Teaching and Learning Methods, Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks (Maoni). The Remarks column records examination dates and short holiday breaks.
Further units continue across the academic year as prescribed in the TIE Standard Six Pupil’s Book.
Sayansi na Teknolojia is planned at Vipindi 6 kwa wiki for most competence blocks.
Methods include bunguabongo, majadiliano ya vikundi, ujifunzaji wa ICT, majaribio, maswali na majibu, ziara, shughuli za mikono, oneshombinu, kazi mradi. Resources include picha, michoro na mifano ya mifumo ya upumuaji; video/uhuishaji; vituhalisi vyenye asidi na besi; karatasi za litmus. Assessment combines exercises, project work, questions and answers, debate, group work and home assignment.
