TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school year.
This Form Two Business Studies scheme of work follows the competency-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE). It moves from production, sources of capital, microfinance and cooperatives, through small-business management, warehousing and inventory, to identifying business opportunities in the local environment. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme is one planned teaching week and carries the same eleven columns: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Business Studies is planned at two periods per teaching week. Across the year the scheme runs to roughly 62 periods, with weeks left free for mid-term, terminal and national examinations and school breaks.
Methods include observation, project activities, skills labs, field trips, think-ink-pair-share, guest speakers, scenarios and gallery walks. Resources include online and offline sources, brochures from banks and microfinance institutions, a budget template, sample inventory documents (goods received and release notes, bin cards, delivery notes and inventory ledgers), and a pitch guide template and rubric. Assessment combines quizzes, questions and answers, project work, presentations, group discussion, flash cards and random assessment tests.
Below is a short extract in the official column format. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
