Azimio la Kazi — Hisabati, Kidato cha Pili. TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school year.
This Form Two Mathematics scheme of work follows the competency-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE). It covers rates and variations, similarity and congruence, algebra (quadratic equations, exponents, standard form, logarithms and radicals), sets, and an introduction to trigonometry. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme is one planned teaching week and carries the same eleven columns: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Mathematics is planned at five periods per teaching week, with ten-period double weeks in March. Across the year the scheme runs to roughly 145 periods, with weeks left free for mid-term, terminal and national examinations and school breaks.
Methods include exploration, group discussion, jigsaw, visual representation, problem solving and the use of technology. Resources include mathematical sets, calculators, graph paper, charts of real-life scenarios, animations and simulations, and mathematical software such as GeoGebra. Assessment combines quizzes, questions and answers, project work, presentations, group discussion, flash cards and random assessment tests.
Below is a short extract in the official column format. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
