Azimio la Kazi — Kiingereza, Kidato cha Pili. TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school year.
This Form Two English scheme of work follows the competency-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE). It develops listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension and writing, using real-life tasks such as discussions, presentations, role plays, letters, emails and short stories. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme is one planned teaching week and carries the same eleven columns: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
English is planned mostly at five periods per teaching week, with ten-period double weeks in March. Across the year the scheme runs to roughly 140 periods, with weeks left free for mid-term, terminal and national examinations and school breaks.
Methods are communicative: group work, discussion, dialogue, talk shows, debate, presentations, jigsaw, role play, group chat, storytelling and interviews. Resources include recorded audio and video materials, texts of different types, dictionaries, a thesaurus, encyclopaedias, newspaper articles, poems and samples of letters. Assessment combines quizzes, questions and answers, project work, presentations, group discussion, flash cards and random assessment tests.
Below is a short extract in the official column format. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
