Azimio la Kazi — Sayansi ya Kompyuta, Kidato cha Pili. TIE-aligned, ready to download and personalise for your school year.
This Form Two Computer Science scheme of work follows the competency-based planning format set out by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE). It covers the Internet and the basics of cyber security, then the basic principles of computer programming: programming languages and tools, installing and configuring a language, writing programs with variables, data types and branching, and debugging. It is a starting point: add your school name and term dates, and adjust pacing for holidays and school events before submitting it to your head of department.
Every row of the scheme is one planned teaching week and carries the same eleven columns: Main Competence, Specific Competence, Learning Activities, Specific Activities, Month, Week, Periods, Reference, Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching and Learning Resources, Assessment Tools and Remarks. The Remarks column is used for examination dates and school breaks.
Computer Science is planned at two periods per teaching week, with four-period double weeks in March. Across the year the scheme runs to roughly 56 periods, with weeks left free for mid-term, terminal and national examinations and school breaks.
Methods include group discussion, case studies, practical work, demonstrations and TIPS. Resources include computers with Internet connectivity, projectors, smart boards and computers installed with programming tools. Assessment combines quizzes, questions and answers, project work, presentations, group discussion, flash cards and random assessment tests.
Below is a short extract in the official column format. The full download follows the same layout week by week across the year, including mid-term and terminal examinations and school holidays.
